Bear Resistant Trash Containers
Refuse and recycle containers and dumpsters are required to be bear resistant in areas designated as Conflict Area 1.

Berm Violations
Many property owners like to install berms in order to screen their home from the roadway or from neighbors. Berms are permitted as long as grading standards are met, including but not limited to retaining stormwater on the property and the grading the berm to be no steeper than 2 to 1 ratio, or 50%.

Building a Structure Without a Building Permit
Any new structures or additions including porches, retaining walls over 4 feet high, roof replacements, window replacements, additions of exterior doors, interior remodels, or decks over 30 feet above grade need building permits.

Camper Trailer as Living Quarters
The Teton County Land Development Regulations prohibit using a camping trailer or RV as residential living quarters, with the exception of a temporary use of the trailer in conjunction with an active building permit for a dwelling.

Construction Noise Violations
Many large commercial developments will have conditions tied to a development permit that restrict heavy construction activities with loud noises to certain hours of the day. However, the majority of residential house construction does not have specific restricted construction hours.

Short-Term Rental Violations
The Teton County Board of County Commissioners have recently confirmed the current restrictions on short-term rentals pursuant to the Land Development Regulations (LDRs) Section 6.1.4.A, residential uses and have directed the Planning and Building Department to enforce any violations regarding short-term rentals.

Wildlife Feeding Violations
The feeding of wildlife on your property is strictly prohibited. This includes supplying attractants that are human food, pet food, hay, forage product or supplement, grain, seed, salt licks, birdseed, garbage or salt licks.

Wildlife Friendly Fencing Violations
Any new fencing must be no higher than 38 inches above the ground and the spacing between the top two wires or top pole/rail and adjacent wire shall be at least 12 feet. The minimum clearance from the ground should be 16 feet.
