Teton County Health Department Offers Adult 65+ Flu Clinic at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole Friday, September 30th
Jackson, WY – September 19, 2020 – The Teton County Health Department will be hosting a flu shot clinic at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole on Friday, September 30th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. High-dose flu shots will be available for individuals who are 65 years old and over, while supplies last.
The high-dose flu vaccine is a quadrivalent flu shot that provides protection against four strains of the influenza virus, preferentially recommended for people 65 years and older. The regular quadrivalent flu shot will also be available for individuals who choose not to receive the high-dose flu shot. All flu vaccines offered will be preservative free.
The Teton County Health Department can bill Medicare and other major insurances. Please bring all insurance cards including Medicare and/or your supplemental insurance card with you to ensure accurate billing occurs. Same-day cash payment will also be accepted for those without insurance. Appointments are not required to receive your flu shot and COVID-19 vaccines will not be provided at the clinic however appointments can be made by visiting http://www.tetoncountywy.gov/CovidVax or calling our Hotline at 307-732-8628.
Flu vaccines are also available at Albertsons, Target CVS, Smith's Pharmacy, and other healthcare providers. Please call to check flu vaccine availability with your preferred provider or location.
Adults 65 years old and over are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications, making vaccination against the seasonal flu a vital element in the layered approach to mitigating the spread of flu and reducing the chance of infection, hospitalization, and death.
