The Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department released the first Intake Form Report this week, as well as a new text notification tool for interested residents to learn about future weighted drawings for affordable housing units.
“Both of these items are part of our on-going efforts to provide clear, accessible information to the community,” said April Norton, Affordable Housing Department Director. “Continual community engagement and transparency are incredibly important priorities for the Department that help us work to meet the housing needs of the local workforce.”
The text notification system provides text alerts for anyone interested in hearing about weighted drawings (formerly known as the housing lottery system). To sign-up, simply text “HOMEJH” to 88202. Those that have already completed the online Intake Form will be automatically signed up for this service but can opt out at any time. Notifications will be provided in English and in Spanish.
The online Intake Form was launched in January 2018 and is designed to create a single point of entry for anyone interested in deed restricted housing programs through the Town and County. In addition to streamlining the application process, the Intake Form provides important information related to income levels, family size, and employment trends that will help the Department better understand demand in order to build units that are most needed.
Additional details related to weighted drawings, rules and regulations, and other important affordable housing information is available at jhaffordablehousing.com.
“The housing department works to create healthy housing solutions so that our workforce can live, spend, and volunteer locally, maintaining the community character we all cherish.”
