September 25, 2017, Jackson, WY – The local sales tax in Teton County will return to 6% starting on October 1, 2017.
The rate changed from 6% to 5% in April of 2017 due to the fact that all SPET funds for the mitigation of the Budge landslide (approved in 2016) had been collected.
Following approval of various SPET projects in May of 2017, a schedule was set to resume the local 1% collection this October.
Once collection begins on October 1st, the 1% sales tax will remain in place until funding is collected for all of the voter-approved SPET projects, or approximately 3 years.
