Last Friday the Housing Department had the opportunity to participate in PARKing Day. This event is held all over the world and serves as an opportunity for communities to think about how we utilize public spaces. Locally, Jackson Hole Public Art coordinates the effort (this is their fourth year!) and we at the Housing Department thought it would be a fun, different way to engage the public – particularly faces you don’t normally see at a 9am Commission meeting or 6pm Council meeting or 3pm JIM.
We asked participants to tell us what "home" means to them or to share with us their thoughts related to "housing in JH". We promised to then share these drawings and words with our local elected officials. Check out the comments and drawings for yourself!
