The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department is closing the remaining ice rinks as today 3/16/23. Consecutive days of above freezing temperatures softened the ice to the point of no return prior to the last nights freeze. Forecasted moderate temperatures and sunshine for the remainder of the week will start the hard freeze/thaw cycle that creates unsafe conditions. It has been a great season and we appreciate the community’s active participation and utilization of the ice rinks. All lights will be turned off starting tonight and we would ask that the community to stay off the areas for the remainder of the season. We made it a week longer than last year with March 15th being our annual goal to keep them open. If you have questions feel free to contact Andy Erskine, Parks Manager at aerskine@tetoncountywy.gov.
