*Employment-based Housing is a legacy program that is comparable to Workforce Housing.
The Homesteads development at Teton Village currently consists of twenty-three total units. Sales, resales, and compliance for 19 of these units are managed by the Housing Department. Sales, resales, and compliance for four of these units are managed by Habitat for Humanity.
These units were a requirement of the Teton Village Master Plan, which was written through a cooperative effort between the Jackson Hole Ski Corporation and the Teton Village Commercial Owners. As part of the approval process, the Teton County Planning Department approved Section 2180 – Planned Unit Development (PUD) District for Planned Resort. The objective of the Master Plan is to establish capacity guidelines to provide a framework for the ultimate development of the resort in a way that positively addresses the visioning issues of community, balance, diversity, character retention, and resource protection.
Construction for these units occurred between October 2017 and December 2018. Eleven Employment-based homes and twelve Affordable homes were built. All of these homes are three-bedroom two-bath homes with one car garages.
Out of the homes whose sales were managed by the Housing Department, two of the Employment-based* units were reserved for Critical Services Providers within the Sheriff's Department. The other Employment-based* units were reserved for businesses in Teton Village and local non-profits. For those homes, each businesses had a "business option" to hand select a household out of their employees to purchase each unit. The Affordable homes were filled through the Housing Department's Weighted Drawing Process.
If any of these Affordable Ownership units become available, we will send out a notification via our mailing list. You may join our mailing list by filling out an Online Intake Form.
